Is Google Taking Over The Internet?

Many think of Google as the place you go when you need a question answered, or you need to find a website to go on. But in fact, Google is much more than just a search engine and they continue to expand every single day. They own a lot of our personal information that many users do not know Google has access to.

Google is known for its search engine feature. This means they know every website you visit, and can categorize you to show ads based on this activity.
Instead of using traditional Microsoft word, Google has found a more convenient alternative. Google Drive offers users a cloud-version of word processing. Google also has Google maps. This allows them to know everywhere you go and want to go. Features such as these and others allow for Google to make sure users have every aspect of what they use the internet for, covered under a google product.

When you are shopping and need to check out, there is google wallet for that. Although this is very convenient for the consumer. This is even more personal information we are allowing Google access to. This is a market Google has discussed expanding further on. They already have the Google play store but they have discussed many options to further their online shopping interface. It helps google to have access to the shopping and finance aspects of people's online lives because the more they can gain access to the better. It helps them learn about people's habits, better place ads, and track their user's behaviors. It is currently unknown why Google wants so much information on its users but it is clear that with the evolution of their company, they are gaining much more access every day.

Lastly, social media. From personal messaging to traditional social media, Google is finding ways to get into the social media scene. They offer many forms of personal communication from Google Voice to Google Hangouts and then social media sites like Google plus to interact.

As Google quietly begins to expand in many different markets. It is import that consumers are aware of what data Google has access to.
